This perfect winter Sunday routine is designed to help you. You will relax, recharge, and prepare for the upcoming week in a cozy fashion.
If you’ve always dreamed of a perfect, cozy winter Sunday routine, you came to the right place. Monday always seems to arrive too quickly. How do you feel about it? Are you more rushed, or do you dread the week ahead with its deadlines and responsibilities?
I want to share my Sunday routine with you. By incorporating these activities into your Sunday, you can set a positive tone for the days ahead.
This post will help you with these three top things:
- Embrace the opportunity to decompress from the prior week.
- Awaken your spirit to feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
- Step into the new week ready to show your best self.
A Perfect Winter Sunday Morning
Wake up naturally
Sunday mornings are sacred to me. Even though not everyone can do this, not setting an alarm is the preference. Allowing your body to collect the sleep it knows it needs, is the main goal.
When you allow your body to wake up naturally, it wakes more peacefully. Our bodies are pretty darn smart, if you are listening, they will tell you exactly what you need.
Dress Slowly
Take your time getting dressed on your perfect winter Sunday morning! Enjoy staying in your cozy winter pajamas or choose something comfortable like joggers or yoga pants. You’ll have plenty of time to get ready later. 😉
Take your time with your usual morning routine. There’s no need to rush or set a time limit; this will help calm your nerves. Give your body the extra care it deserves. Consider even shaving above your knee. I’m wild like that 🙂

The important thing is to avoid cutting corners and to take your time caring for yourself.
Clean Bedding
I typically strip the bed instead of making it right away. I enjoy slipping into freshly made sheets on Sunday nights. This is my only house cleaning aside from washing dishes. I aim to finish all cleaning by Friday or Saturday.
A Warm Cuppa…(a cup of whatever you like best)
Are you a morning coffee drinker? Tea? Matcha? Hot water and lemon? Or are you all of the above?
I’m usually a coffee girl first thing in the morning myself (after warm lemon water of course…) More on why here in this post: https://afemininelife.com/10-feminine-morning-habits-you-need-to-start-now/
Coffee
Sunday starts like most days for me. After waking up, I enjoy a cup of coffee. This coffee is special—it’s not rushed or simply part of a busy morning. I carefully craft it and savor it with my husband, and it always tastes better that way.
Stretch/walk and breakfast
I stretch or walk before or after breakfast, which I enjoy with my family. Sunday breakfasts are special, featuring waffles, pancakes, or crepes. Sometimes, we go out for breakfast, too!
Take my time getting dressed…
Take a moment before or after breakfast to savor your routine. Sometimes, lounging in comfy clothes is a joy in itself. Winter invites us to snuggle by the fireplace and create beautiful memories together.
Depending on our plans for the day, I’ll usually choose a dress for Sunday. Sometimes, we go to church, or to grandma and grandpa’s house. And sometimes we don’t go anywhere. I like wearing dresses on Sunday because I can usually get away with it. I enjoy looking feminine and wearing my vintage-style dresses without worrying about feeling out of place.
A Perfect Winter Sunday Afternoon
Reading or crafting
Afternoon is a great time to snuggle in a soft chair and read a book or write something. Sometimes I journal, and sometimes, I work on a fiction writing project. Quite often, I’m a busy bee and end up in a craft or home project. I’m always looking for something to paint.

Music study
Music practice is constantly happening here. I’m sure my roof is shaking from the sound. Piano, violin, drums, and the horn are often heard from outside my home.
Shopping/meal planning
This is also the time I plan meals for the week by shopping the pantry first. I’ll add things to a grocery pick-up order if needed. Lunch with the family is always fun.

Your Winter Sunday Evening
Family dinner
Sunday dinner, like breakfast, is made with time and care. Making dinner becomes a family affair where everyone pitches in. Clean-up also becomes a team effort.
Making the bed
After taking the warm, clean sheets out of the dryer, I make the bed with purpose. Baths and showers become moments of rejuvenation. I check the calendar, fill in events with intention, and journal to clarify my goals. I’m a HUGE list and goals girl, turning dreams into action!
Enjoying the solitude
I cherish reading stories to the kids before bed. A hot bubble bath and lavender tea bring me peace. Later, I treasure quiet moments with my husband in our serene home.
What special self-care activities are you planning for yourself this Sunday?
That’s it! May this warm and cozy winter Sunday routine inspire you to cherish the simple moments of joy. Stay cozy!
