It Girl Morning routines are coveted by women all over the World. Especially for women who know what it is to be the “It Girl” because they have got it all figured out! And now you can too. That’s why I came up with this “IT” Girl routine.
If you’ve never been a routine girl, let alone, a morning routine girl, let me tell you, it is a GAME CHANGER! I wasn’t always a morning routine girly, not until I learned the importance a routine plays on beauty and self care. That, and once I discovered this morning routine was the way all IT girls follow to some extent or another, I was sold!
Why start or follow a feminine Morning routine for the “IT” girl? Well, if you want a seamlessly smooth morning that is no stress, no fuss and ALL the results you’ll want to keep reading to discover the secrets behind all “IT” girls.
THE BREAKDOWN for Feminine Routine For the “Healthy” Girl
So what’s the first thing us women should focus on?
Here’s the breakdown in a nutshell:
- Ample Sleep
- First Sips
- First Movements
- Sunrise solute
- No Fuss skin care routine
- All Natural Make-up Look
- The non-diet diet to fuel up
- the no exercise guide to staying fit
Step 1. Ample Sleep
You’ve heard it before but I’ll say it again. Be sure to get your Zzzs! A good night’s rest is not only essential for your nervous system and ensuring you’re ready to get up and going the next morning, sleep also repairs your body at night. When I say repair, I mean just that. Proper sleep will repair your muscles after daily exercise, will help your body metabolize properly and digest fully. Sufficient sleep will also help your hair and nails grow, improve collagen and elastin production, and reduce excessive cortisol production.
Another bonus gained from getting adequate sleep, is that your hunger cues won’t be mixed up. The last thing you want to do is end end up over eating because you are eating for energy and not because you are actually hungry, or over doing it on the caffeine which will also end in poor eating choices and wreck havoc on your nervous system.
So if you want to be a prime example of Feminine Routine For the “Healthy” Girl, get your beauty rest.

Step 2: First Sips
Of course I’m going to mention the importance of sipping on water ALL day. Because you’ve heard this advice 1,000 times, I’ll only touch briefly on the importance of drinking ample water daily. Always, ALWAYS, drink a cup of water (or warm lemon water) before you drink caffeine. Even better, have a glass of water with added electrolytes.
Try to sip on water all day versus guzzling it down. This way you don’t feel water-logged, sloshy, and the task becomes more manageable. I personally aim for 90 ounces of water daily.
Water is not the only importance drink you should be sipping daily. Drinking herbal teas are a healthy way to reach your daily water intake goal, but also aid in hydration. You’ll have to do some research on the benefits from different herbal teas. Passion fruit, chamomile, rose, hibiscus, mint, and rooibos, are some of my favorite choices.
You’ll want to limit the caffeine intake because this dehydrates you. Try adding different fruits and herbs to your water and teas to make hydrating more fun!

Feminine Routine For the “Healthy” Girl 3: First Movements
How you move your body first thing in the morning will either break you or make you. Think about it, what does every cat or dog, (or insert choice animal here) do when they first wake?
They stretch!
Rolling out of bed and racing around the house, going up and down the stairs, taking care of every one else in the house first before taking care of yourself is a sure way to disaster. First, you will start your day with a cortisol spike. Second, you will feel stressed, flustered, and stiff.
Give yourself ample time in the morning to stretch. Sit in your bed and roll your head from side to side. Move your hips in circles. Reach for your toes. Stretch to the sky. Once your body is feeling a little bit more out of the sleepy state it was once in, aim for a light walk, a gentle morning yoga, or a Pilates class.

Step 4: Sunrise Solute!
“Early to rise first to bed.” “Early Bird get’s the worm” …
We’ve been hearing cute little mottos our entire lives. That’s because there must be something to it! At least, according to the IT Girl, there is. Every It girl knows that when you wake up with the sun, soak up some of that vitamin D, you are a happier, more positive person. There’s something to be said about starting your day out with the sun and ending it with the sunrise to make you feel complete. It’s a mind trick to feel as though you have finished what you started and that you made the most of your day.
I started waking up consistently at the same time every day no matter how much sleep I’ve gotten the night before, and let me tell you, my day feels so long and fulfilling!
Feminine Routine For the “Healthy” Girl only suggests getting up with the sun because it gives you a sense of making the most of your day. If you prefer to sleep in until late morning, do YOU!
Step 5: No Fuss Skin Care Routine

With all the products saturating the market, it’s no wonder it’s easy to get lost in the sea of skin care products and know what we should be doing. That’s why it’s important to keep our skincare routine simple. In doing so, you will spend less money on unnecessary products, waste less because you use all of the product before buying new, and thirdly, you will have a no-brainer when it comes to your everyday skincare routine.
Here’s an example of what my skincare routine looks like as my Feminine Routine For the “Healthy” Girl…
- ice bath or very cold water splash
- wash face with two-in-one exfoliating wash
- Use a toner to add important PH balancers back into skin (I like Thatcher’s Rose water)
- moisturizer Cushion cream from Summer Friday BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/46Ac0kF
- Star glow glow gel BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/408XHjg
- sunscreen (I use a CC cream or BB cream that acts as tinted moisturizer and sunscreen protection) BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/3TySZHJ
Added vitamin C and or Hyaluronic acid drops for a dewy look BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/3Gj6QPz
Step 6: Natural-looking makeup is a Feminine Routine For the “Healthy” Girl hack!

Who doesn’t like a quick and easy make-up routine that not only saves you time, but makes you look like a million bucks? The best part of a swift and effective makeup routine is that you use minimal product, showcase your best features, and save time. With this easy make-up look, you’ll spend less time in front of the mirror and more time doing what you enjoy! Hopefully, this routine will become like second-nature to you and you’ll be able to perfect your own personal look in less time.
I personally go for a natural look on days I’m in a hurry or I am going for simplicity.
Step one:
Follow the skincare routine in the previous tip above.
Step two:
If your moisturizer or CC cream does not contain SPF, this is where you apply your SPF. The bonus of using a sunscreen is an added dewy, healthy face look. If shiny or dewy is not your thing, you can tone down the shine/dew by adding a powder (I choose a mineral formula. This Super Goop is a primer and sunscreen in one! BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/4lFkc8d
Step three:
concealer for spot coverage. I like this one by Tarte. BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/4eHuSQR
Step Four:
your all-in-one primer/foundation/CC or BB cream with SPF if you missed it in the skin care step prior, here is my favorite product for this by Ilia BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/44V0O0J
Step five:
bronzer for showcasing your cheekbones and jawline. I like Physicians Formula Butter products. You can buy it HERE: https://amzn.to/3GFHknz
Step Six:
Blush to highlight those apples! But you don’t have to stop at the cheeks, you can now add to your eyelids to tie in the whole rosy glow look! BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/3U9RwaU
Step seven:
A Shimmering eyeshadow in the white color palette to put in the inner corners of your eyes. This will brighten them up. Use a shade darker (I like a light gold or champagne color for across the bottom of the eyelid as well).
Step eight:
mascara. I love the Honest brand. You can BUY HERE: https://amzn.to/40c1yMt
Step Nine:
Use a highlighter to highlight your favorite features. I always add to the tip of my nose, in the crease of my Cupid’s Bow, and the highest part of my cheekbones. I adore Physicians Formula. BUY MY FAVE HERE: https://amzn.to/40a4NUx
Bonus Step Ten:
If time allows: I like to add a slight wing to the outside of my outer lids. What this means is that instead of adding eyeliner across the full expanse of my eyelid, I only add a wing to the far outer corner. This makes the eyes appear bigger and adds a cat-like shape. This takes WAY way less time than adding a full line across the eyelid. I like Physicians Formula found HERE: https://amzn.to/4lL2WOd
Final tips and thoughts…
- Don’t forget that your neck is an extension of your face.
- create a look that is unique to you
- make it a goal to use as few products as possible
- make it as natural as possible. Remember, we are going for that “It Girl” vibe.
- Have FUN!
STEP 7 The NON-Diet Diet for your It Girl Morning Routine

For this next “It Girl” tip, I go over how not to diet to stay lean and healthy without yo-yo dieting, counting calories, or obsessing about food, the scale, or anything else you might be thinking you need to do to get your desired body shape. If you’ve never read this book, French Women Don’t Get Fat, I highly recommend it. You can find a copy right HERE: https://amzn.to/4lja5Wb
I stopped counting calories, tracking macros, weighing food, and following strict diet plans a long time ago. These approaches made me miserable, took the joy out of eating, and never resulted in a sustainable lifestyle change. Through research and personal trial and error, I have compiled a set of “rules” from top influencers that promote healthy eating. These guidelines have helped me maintain a consistent body weight and size for the past twenty years! This journey includes my experiences with marriage, raising four kids, moving numerous times, attending college, adapting to different living environments, and now navigating perimenopause.
HOW TO:
NOT DIET LIKE AN “IT” GIRL
The first thing you can do is not count calories. Instead, dish up food on small plates and bowls, and listen to your body. Stop when you are satisfied, not stuffed. You avoid the scarcity mindset by telling yourself that you can have more if you are hungry and that there WILL be another meal later on, so no need to stuff yourself now.
There’s no room for diet food. Always reach for the real thing. You will be satisfied with less of the real food product versus more of the copycat, only claiming to be healthier. Also, you avoid cutting out food groups from your diet this way.
Another thing, is always hydrate first. Sometimes we get our hunger and thirst signals mixed up. Try drinking a glass of water first. On the topic of hydrating, always drink a mug of hot water, lemon or herbal, alongside your meals. This aids in digestion and keeps your body hydrated.
WHAT ELSE?
Reach for fresh seasonal produce. By eating food that is in Season, you will get more nutrients from your meals, and thus, your body will feel more satisfied.
If you are craving something, go for it, and go for the real thing, not the diet version. Just keep in check portion sizes, opt for sharing with someone, and then don’t think about it later (not guilt or shame whatsoever. This is your 20%. This only works if you are eating super lean and nutrient-rich foods 80% of the time and moving your body regularly.
It girls don’t snack all day. They eat three balanced meals (sitting down and never on the go in the car) that are protein and nutrient-rich. If they are feeling famished or in need of a snack, even with eating three meals, they listen to their bodies and go for something high in protein, or something like fruit or vegetables.
Drinking bingers are a no-go for the average “It Girl”. An occasional alcoholic beverage is no thing, but the regular consumption of alcohol leads to messed up hormones and blood sugar, and contributes to a wider waistline.
LASTLY:
Get your supplements daily. Supplements like apple cider vinegar, turmeric, capsaicin, collagen, omega-rich fish oils, multi vitamins, your daily greens and superfoods, and so on… Talking to a holistic health expert or doctor to find out what vitamins you need is a must!

Step 8
The No Exercise Guide to Staying Fit

When it comes to fitness, the internet, influencers, friends, and family all seem to have something to say on what you should be doing. It’s quite easy to get bogged down in information and feel lost. That’s why I’m not going to be just another person telling you WHAT I think you should be doing. Instead, I’m going to keep it as simple as possible.
The right exercise for you is the one you’re going to stick with.
There. Not quite what you expected, right?
There are a few reasons why I suggest doing the exercises that you’ll stick with. Mainly, your best exercise is the one you will continue to do long-term. I’m pretty sure that somewhere along the way, people forgot that the whole point of exercise is to help our bodies stay strong, supple, and mobile. Somewhere along the way, our fitness goals have turned to body aesthetics. From booty growth, to visible abs, to thigh gap…we truly lost sight of the why.
With that being said, choose daily exercise that will support your lifestyle, help you stay mobile for as long as possible. Choose something that you actually enjoy, because if you don’t enjoy the fitness, you will not stick with it. You can often find me going for walks or runs, lifting weights a couple of times a week, or stretching deep with pilates and yoga.
