Spring activity #1
Start a garden.

Gardening is a direct link to spring. There’s something about putting your hands into soil that awakens the soul, and connects a woman to Mother Earth. Besides that, gardening is a stress reducer and aids in healthy gut microbiome. Gardening has been said to be one of the healthiest forms of exercise that you can do that aids in living a long, healthy life. Gardening is a direct activity that can make you feel quite domesticated, self sufficient, and be y our own little piece of heaven on Earth.
Anyone can start a garden. That’s right, anyone. It doesn’t matter if you live in an apartment, or if you have miles of acreage. There’s a solution for all. You can start with a simple salad garden, or a tea garden.
If you don’t know where to start, I recommend following one of my favorite bloggers who spills the beans about everything gardening related. Follow this link to her blog on how to make a tea garden HERE: https://growingwildthings.com/how-to-design-a-tea-garden/
Feminine Spring Activity #2
Bake Spring Treats

Baking is not specific to women, of course, but because this blog is all about the girlies, that’s what we’ll focus on. Baking is a great way to practice one of many feminine urges. There’s something magical about researching recipes, shopping for and gathering ingredient, baking and arranging baked goods for family and friends.
Let your creativity guide you as you choose recipes and decorate or garnish and arrange your baked goods. Reach for the freshest ingredients possible and think outside the box. Cut fruit, use fresh herbs like sweet green mint, peppermint, and edible lavender.
Bunt cakes are a great choice because their easy, can have many varieties and flavors, and are a whole lot of fun to decorate. Try baking a simple yellow or vanilla bunt cake and inject a small portion with flavored gelatin (only add the warm water to the gelatin mix, not the cold water) put in fridge and continue to inject every 30-60 minutes until the gelatin and warm water mix are gone. Add your favorite frosting, or opt for decorating with powdered sugar and or fruit.

Cooking with Spring Ingredients

Cooking with fresh ingredients that are IN season is a great way to welcome spring. There are many reasons why choosing produce that are in season is a great option. Usually in season produce is less expensive, and the food will taste fresh and more flavorful that food out of season.
Just like with baking, cooking is a way to fulfill those feminine urges. Finding recipes that suit your and your family’s taste, gathering, organizing, and preparing meals is so satisfying. Adding fresh spring produce to the mix will keeps meals fresh and when you stick to seasonal fruits and vegetables, you will always offer a variety from one season to the next.
Just like with baking, experiment wit recipes, herbs and seasoning combination. There’s no reason to feel stuck in a rut when there are literally endless possibilities out there. Go a step further by setting the table in spring fashion. Add fresh cut flowers, stems and practice bringing the outdoors in as table decor.
Feminine Spring Activity #4
Go on a bike ride!

One of the many ways to enjoy spring is by getting outdoors in it. Why not choose to have your workout outdoors while riding a bike. When I picture a feminine way to ride a bike, I always envision a beach bike or an old banana-seat bike in pastel colors, with a little basket nestled on the front.
I’m always amazed when I see images of women riding bikes while wearing long flowy skirts and dressed. These images are aesthetically pleasing and make great photos, but I’m not sure it’s always practical to ride a bike while wearing a dress. If you did ride a bike while wearing a dress, a shorter, sundress, or skorts set would be the way to go.
Spring Activity #5
Gather Outdoors

Gathering outdoors during spring is the most sure way to delve into spring head on. There are a number of activities you can do outdoors this spring, as this article directly relates, but gathering outdoors with friends and family is encouraged.
What better way to step into spring than to do so with people you care about. Gathering together will help ensure a long successful spring that blends into an long, eventful summer. The beauty of getting together this spring is that the weather is often more mild. You’re not quite to the scorching summer heat and days of endless pool parties and BBQ’s. Spring can, however, have moodier weather patterns which if you ask me, is just part of the allure and fun.
Try gathering together for more occasion than solely Easter or spring weddings. Try putting together a picnic, a day at the park to fly kites, a bike riding party, a garden or tea party and so on. The list can go on and on.
Spring Activity #6
Have a Picinic

This feminine spring activity ties in with the last, to gather outdoors. Have a picnic is a great way to create a little peace on Earth and enjoy the spring season whether you’re with others or flying solo. For some odd reason, whenever I am packing for a picnic by myself or with the family, I always feel so French in doing so. The French are known for packing picnic to enjoy when they are on the road. They often opt for a picnic when traveling versus eating in the car on the go. This is brilliant! if you have a nice little picnic basket packed and ready to go, you can lay down a spread just about anywhere.
If you’ve never packed a picnic for yourself to fly solo, you should give it a try. There’s something about making thoughtful choices, from your favorite cheese, fruits and vegetables, to your favorite sparkling water and cute throw blanket. When you are outdoors enjoying lunch by yourself, it’s easy to appreciate the work around you. And tuning into nature is a feminine practice that never goes out of style.
Feminine Spring Activity #7
Go Flower Picking

Is there anything more feminine than picking flowers? Probably, though it’s hard to imagine. I suppose if you were wearing a dress and sunhat while singing and picking wild flowers at the same time …
Picking flowers is such a great way to channel your inner feminine side. Check out local spots like orchards and flower farms that allow you to choose your own flowers. Or else, go out in the wild and gather flowers from your own land, from nearby land, just make sure you are not trespassing, or picking flowers that are protected by your state or the government.
If there are little to no options in your area, take yourself down to the local farmers market or store and create and arrangement from assorted selections.
Feminine Spring Activities #8
Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning may not make the list of glamourous spring activities, but there is just something so refreshing about sitting back, sipping tea and enjoying the fruits of your labor after a hard day’s work. Spring cleaning is an excellent opportunity to deep dive into your spaces and clear out the old and make room for the new. Otherwise, it’s just out with the old.
Spring cleaning is symbolic for spring’s new beginning. Flowers are blooming, trees are budding, birds are nesting, and ducks come flocking in. With spring, comes the opportunity to transform your space to reflect the outdoors. Furthermore, it’s time to envision your fashion style, your decor, and new ways to get outside and focus on your health and general wellbeing.
Feminine Spring Activities #9
Take a Sewing Course

Sewing is not limited to your granny, ladies. Sewing is a lost feminine art, if you asked me. Only this morning the hubby asked if I could sew on a missing button for him. I stopped what I was doing and grabbed my sewing box and was so excited to put my skills to use that I sewed on the button while he was still wearing the shirt.
There are so many different methods of sewing that I’m positive every woman can find the one she likes best. From hand sewing, quilting, using a machine or serger, or mastering needle work, your feminine urge to create and repair will be fulfilled.
Moreover, sewing is not only a hobby for time spent indoors during long winter months, it’s a great use of time year-round. There are always projects that can be done seasonally. Try making a beautiful spring banner to hang across the fireplace or four poster bed. Sewing your own spring curtains gives you the ability to hang exactly what you want.
Feminine Spring Activity #10
Flower Arranging

The art of arranging flowers is a unique form of a feminine, creative outlet. Have you ever thought of the science that goes into arranging flowers? I know, who knew there was an actual science and process to sticking a bunch of stems and flowers into a jar?
There is.
Much like any other creative art form, like painting, decorating, applying makeup, arranging flowers is something that the arranger puts effort and meticulous thought behind. Take a class in floral design, or go out and wing it. Regardless of the way you take up flower arranging, the end result will give you a beautiful array of flowers to decorate your home with, or to gift.
Spring Activity #11
Wear Spring Dresses

Okay so you might be thinking that wearing a dress is not so much an activity, and more about fashion trends. Let me tell you, wearing a dress can absolutely be an activity. Or, at least help you with the endeavor of choosing your activity, like riding a bike or flower picking.
Now, if you are a dress collector, or even a creator who’s career revolves around wearing them in videos and pictures, then choosing your dress can be an overall activity. Some dresses require layers of prepping including undergarments, layering pieces, threading, buttoning, tying and so on. Not to mention, if you are creating a whole mood, then pairing accessories can take skill and thought.
Feminine Spring Activity #12
Tea Party

Whether you choose a themed tea party or a more relaxed occasion, a tea party is a great way to celebrate spring. What’s so great about tea parties are, for one, time spent with people you care about, and second, you can enjoy the flavors or the season.
When choosing tea flavors, aim for spring flavors, such as rose, hibiscus, lavender, chamomile, and a variety of mint. Fruit and herb flavors are a great way to welcome spring. When setting up your tea party for guests, have fun decorating the table, arranging flowers, and pairing scrumptious baked goods and cucumber sandwiches with your tea.
Try trading out your fall and winter coffee and black teas with something more floral or fruity. Great options are green tea, jasmine, oolong, earl gray lavender, mango and nettles.
Furthermore, here are some great ideas for baked goods and refreshments to pair with your tea.
- cucumber sandwhiches
- lavender earl gray tea cakes
- lemon bread
- almond poppy seed muffins
- fruit filled berry Danish
- crab salad
- sushi
- Bundt cakes with spring design
Feminine Spring Activity #13

The long fall and winter months indoors can take it’s toll on the skin, especially if all of a sudden you start spending more time outdoors. You face and body will thank you for spending a little extra time caring for it this spring. Try out a great microdermabrasion for the face, and a caffeinated body scrub for the rest of your body. After, you’ll want to do a little dry brushing to get that circulation going and improve lymphatic drainage. Finally, it’s time to moisturize your entire body. *tip, remove hair prior to your spa day.
Other ways to refresh for the spring:
- get eyebrows waxed
- get a fresh haircut
- come up with a morning and bedtime routine
- start a new workout routine incorporating more outdoor activities
